I am...
the founder of a new theory of art called UnGraven Image. In addition to being a professional artist I have a weekly inspirational art blog, where I also sometimes give good mentions or reviews of shows in the NYC area. I am working on a book that falls into the self help/inspirational category and uses the images of many of my works, a kind of Visual Alphabet Soup for the Soul.
I intend for UnGraven Image to grow into an art movement and invite other artists to explore this new method and join in.
Always happy to make new friends and network. Contact me!
About my artwork
UnGraven Image is the first theory of art to entirely focus on the stroke. I am its founder, and I work exclusively as an artist within this theory.
UnGraven Image is also the first theory of art to use symbols for every stroke. Plus, as the meaning of the symbol-stroke is inherent in itself, the stroke can be and and usually is obscured. This mimics the actual way we perceive reality, which is really energy (particles/waves) that we also cannot see. It is a next step from Conceptual, especially Word Art.
My symbol-strokes are binary letters in Hebrew Torah font. So far it is the only font in any phonetic language that I have find. The paintings cannot be read, as the letters are interwoven, glazed one on top of each other in many layers, and are usually small to mimic and emulate the pre-matter strings.

I have four series of works, 1.) Genesis: Sunset-Sunrise (about the Aha Moment when we "awaken" to a new reality, understanding or idea; 2.) Essence portraits (how to see the divine. the spiritual in see ourselves and others); 3.) Written on the Wind (becoming inspired); and 4.) Trees of Life (being a life enhancing inspiration).
You can find examples of my work on the UnGraven Image web site, on special pages about each series, and through out the site, including the weekly inspirational art blog. At the web site you can download, for free, the booklet, :The Manifesto of UnGraven Image Art-- A Painting's Meaning is Inherent in its Strokes".
Artists I like
Those who have inspired and "taught" me - Vincent van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Andy Warhol, Fra Angelico, El Greco, Rembrandt, Jasper Johns, Chuck Close, Lawrence Weiner, Hals, Rothko and many others...
Interests
It is probably easier to say what I am not interested in, but even that gives me pause. Obviously my primary interests are with art, religion and spirituality, physics, literature, film and video, Music is important to me, and my strokes (phonic letters) reference sound so I believe I am also always painting or representing music visually. I have a dog and a sweet at who seems to have moved in after the neighbors moved moved away. Of course, everyone loves their friends and family. I write and build the UnGraven Image we site. Take walks on the beach, enjoy NYC and work on renovating my old farm house in Southampton.
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
Anything at the Met. Condo's coming to Luhring Augustine.

Dear Judy Rey Wasserman,

I'm not "into" the religious arena as you seem to be, but I do like some of your statements about the "pixel" being or representing energy within a binary context. I think the "stroke as pre-matter/energy/string/essence" is interesting, and I've taken a look at the various works by others on your site as examples of this.
