Twelve Emerging Artists from Six Countries Unite in London to Present a
Visual Exploration of Today’s Technology-Driven Lifestyle
LONDON, UK -- Through a blend of cultural backgrounds and artistic styles, a group of twelve emerging artists will present the exhibition: “I Have a Dream: Explorative Art Works on Technology Toxicity”. This exhibition strives to produce a collective portrait of the international art scene from the vantage point of the human race in coexistence with technological progress and materialistic dependency. As computers, television and mobile phones become a growing element of interaction with the world, humans are presented with a challenge to separate their own physicality from their external machine-dependant physicality.
This collection of alternative media works by a young group of artist from Italy, Germany, China, Chile, Venezuela, Spain, and England, seeks to open a space of introspection in which visual stories are presented for the viewer to make his or her own interpretations of lifestyle balance against human progress.
Artists include: Dominka Block, Alex Guijarro, Ilaria Rosselli del Turco, Kieran Palmer, Natalie Levi, Richard Packer, Kirsty Packer, Jeremy Lee, Otto Schabe, Maxim Weitzman, Paul Kelsey, and Cristina Prudente, who is also the curator of the exhibition.
The exhibition, which will be on view at the Candid Arts Galleries on 3 Torrens St, London EC1V-1NQ, opens on February 29, 2008 (Cocktail reception at 6:00 pm) and runs through March 2, 2008.
Free and open to the public.
