There have been so many so-called ''artists'' that have been cropping up, and when it comes to the academic side, they are so weak. I feel that even if you want to express yourself through ready-mades, that you must still be strong in the academic side, depending on your area, if it is photography, one must know the rules of photography in order to break them. same with painting, drawing and any other kind of art. for me, although i love tradition, i will fully accept an abstract painting, but if that person doesn't produce a good anatomical drawing, then it makes me doubt how good of an artist he is. Although I mean this is just my opinion. I think we will always go back to basics.

At 12:15pm on 12th February 2008, Ainhoa said…: hehe :) of course I know what art is. lol. i dont need anyone to tell me. :) to be quite honest after thinking it over i meant to ask ''what makes a good work of art?'' because there are many artists who i wouldnt particularly classify under good works of art. however as you said, i just wanted to bring up a discussion, where people show their views on their own art, for some it might be releasing negative energy, for others it might be spiritually fulfilling, and for others inner satisfaction. I just wanted peoples views :) but i must say that its just a great response that i have been getting :)
