I am...
Original abstract art and fine art prints by Pamela E Miller. Miller Modern Art provides wholesale programs to galleries, interior designers and real estate, as well as art related information and links.
About my artwork
“By cultivating the beautiful we scatter the seeds of heavenly flowers, as by doing good we cultivate those that belong to humanity”: Robert Heinlein
These are just a few words that I like to live by. I feel that creating art is a way of sharing your soul with others. As you will see in my artwork: sometimes I am very flamboyant and always colorful, sometimes confidant and peaceful, other times angry or chaotic. I think all of my emotions; passions come out in my works. Sometimes I layer it on thick (paint and words) and other times I flirt with the canvas with light feathery strokes. My art reflects my beliefs in love, warmth, generosity, loyalty, and honesty. I’m inspired by science, fantasy, martial arts, architecture, and nature (especially water).
Artists I like
Some of the artists that have influenced me would be Picasso, Dali, Kandinsky, and Peter Max.

Irked by February's changes in fees and the feedback-rating system, merchants who once sold wares exclusively at the online-auction site can now be found on a number of smaller alternative sites… Continue

Thanks for visiting my page and for your encouraging remarks.

Please feel free to reproduce my text, and thanks for asking.

I don't put much energy into selling work at the moment. Why don't you have a go a making some cord pieces yourself?

I can tell you a bit of the thinking behind my examples:

In western art 'line' is associated with 'purity' and with disciplines such as geometry, where points, lines, planes are abstract mathetical entities.

I wanted to explore 'line','linear properties', 'linearity' with real fibres, lines, cords, ropes etc.

I'd collected stuff that I'd find. Let it fester in the studio. Then try to explore how to combine it.

I'm doing similar work with sheet materials, shell forms and solid materials.

All the best in your painting.

I liked the simplicity and directedness of your landscapes and cityscapes.

Hi Pamela, nice to read about your appreciation of my straight forwardness, and your critique too–I LOVE to hear what people wanna tell me about my work (definitely the negative). it's all opinions, I've got my own.... and here are some now... My favorite is the blue Parisian buildings (#4 at the moment), very awkward in an honest way. But ya' know, I think the other ones are honestly awkward too, just something about the blue one I like though. Maybe it's the geometry.

Mermaid&man? no. And goopy sparkle glitter outta those little plastic tubes–big fucking no, but the abstracts that were silhouetted, yeah, I think they show promise, I've seen stuff like them that work, but then the next one in slideshow (7) is the worst, with the goop. Sometimes I see stuff that I've seen 500 times by amateurs. I love amateurs, but only if they're original.

thanx for the invite,

sorg
