I've been a bad girl not updating in the last couple of days. That's okay, I'm here now and in celebration of the new embroidered items on Zazzle. I bring you a hat. Yes. A hat. Deal with it. Dark Night! It's like...trucker meets, artistic genius. I like it! :]

Family Spirit, by Elisabeth Frauendorfer, 2006. Magnussa Phantastic Surrealism. http://www.magnussa.com/artist.html magnussa@magnussa.comPlease feel free to reproduce my text, and thanks for asking.
I don't put much energy into selling work at the moment. Why don't you have a go a making some cord pieces yourself?
I can tell you a bit of the thinking behind my examples:
In western art 'line' is associated with 'purity' and with disciplines such as geometry, where points, lines, planes are abstract mathetical entities.
I wanted to explore 'line','linear properties', 'linearity' with real fibres, lines, cords, ropes etc.
I'd collected stuff that I'd find. Let it fester in the studio. Then try to explore how to combine it.
I'm doing similar work with sheet materials, shell forms and solid materials.
All the best in your painting.
I liked the simplicity and directedness of your landscapes and cityscapes.
Mermaid&man? no. And goopy sparkle glitter outta those little plastic tubes–big fucking no, but the abstracts that were silhouetted, yeah, I think they show promise, I've seen stuff like them that work, but then the next one in slideshow (7) is the worst, with the goop. Sometimes I see stuff that I've seen 500 times by amateurs. I love amateurs, but only if they're original.
thanx for the invite,
sorg
