- I am currently working on making over a vintage travel trailer into a traveling gallery as a way to expand the gallery system and bring art into the streets. I will be having a show of painted domestic items in the trailer this summer.
- About my artwork
- I make objects that stir up memories of my childhood and compare them to the experience of raising my own children. For me being a mother has become a desperate fight against powerlessness, loneliness and self-loathing. This current work is influenced by Sesame Street, fairy tales, monster movies, myth and narrative and reflects my sometimes dark, yet whimsical view about motherhood.
I have always been drawn to clay as a medium because of it's response to the maker, the way it pushes and pulls to the weight of my body, the smell of it and its versatility.
