Why we should all be painting pictures of dogs

Hans' dog Dylan T is incredible, but Tori's statement, at fist I wasn't sure, was she–in fact–talking about your Bansky? Isn't it funny about art? Who are we listening to? That's the question. I h... Continue

About my artwork
Never ending quest to locate my taste. Resigning myself to this search. An impulsive sense, scribbled line, texture rough/slick, accidents lovin', breakin' stuff, glazing over layers, marbles shiny or plastic. Sparkle & stickers, sometimes pinstriped. Also a bit of the high & artsy. But I like leftovers.

Sometimes it's a representational oil painting or a drawing amongst the scramble. A funny thing about representation is that it could represent one of many things for a witness, regardless of the presenter's vision.

I'm not a literal artist; there's no firm agenda here for me, once in a while maybe. Rather than building a stock notion of meaning or medium and then working that product to its exhaustion, my interest lies in perceiving a vague feeling or sense that radiates from within the art . In viewing my work, I would hope that a transfer of energy might happen: one encounters a piece of artwork and feels a coolness wash over or maybe a fresh gust of openness then pass it on. whoooosh

To have one particular taste within myself nailed down to canvas repeatedly would be torture. I say "Here's some of me, all of this. These are what I'm saying now and now and now." It's being dialed in or loosened up, I never know where it's going. So now I've become an installationist including alot of the stuff I make. Nothing means anything without enough perspective. I'll keep going.

Life in a Glass Box

Artist in LaBussaBox My daily life was carried out in the display window of LaBussola Art Boutique downtown on 1st St. for 120 hours last month during Artown–that's 5 days straight–just to draw. I got out Saturday the 19th of July, so I wrote this a… Continue

Inside–Outsider

What makes an artist an "outsider"? Is it the self-taught status? Is it the mental instability? Is it a cranky attitude or living in an obscure place? What if an artist has knowledge of current issues & stuff? what if an artist went to college? W… Continue

I'm constantly being underestimated–you too?

I talk to friends/colleges, family sometimes, I see that maybe they don't think so highly of my potential. That doesn't bother me, I don't see theirs either. No matter how much someone tells you they have this going for them because they're gonna do… Continue

I ask me, what do I think about my paintings?

Self, what do I think about my paintings? Where have they come from, where are they going? So I'll just ramble in my answer, not like anyone's reading this, are they? anyone? So there's a thing in my work with the scribble. I think I've seen some inc… Continue

ALL TOGETHER NOW....

All together now! –––"Are we not men? We are Nada!" My number one desire is to make a comfy living from the sale of my art. I made these paintings, but I don't wanna keep them. It'd be nice to make a living from doing the thing I'm best at. I found… Continue

Beauty and Perception

There can be found experiences in nature and in the daily happenings of routine that we're privy to for just a moment as we ride the train of hours. We might glimpse something as rare and romanticized a thing as beauty, but even if it's a beauty that… Continue

dear dear sorg,
thanks for your comment, critique, and compliment... much appreciated... : )
i see that you're quite diversely talented yourself... compared to yours i feel my art is too controlled which is troubling me right now as i write this... but then i probably won't feel this way just hours later... i'd never know... i am never completely satisfied with what i create anyways...
always striving to improve.

i do enjoy your art and appreciate it very much!!!
you have much to say...

i, too, am in endless quest and search of my taste or style and/or both as you (read in your statement)...
my problem is i get bored too easily... 6-7 pieces in one style, then i am sure to get bored... but while i am exploring it, i act and think as if it is the one every time...

hmmm... do i make living doing art? no and yes... i've worked as a freelance graphic designer as long as i remember until 7 years ago when i started a small art school (90-100 students) for kids... and just started doing art for myself in 2007... the only show i've participated in is a group exhibit in japan in march this year.... and i'm not japanese.

i just love creating... usually without any purpose but to make myself happy... : )

thanks again, sorg~
: ) mimi

p.s. love your styles!

OSU oregon state u. The Dada was interesting and amusing last year. I went on Thursday or Friday at 2 different times. Many "doors" were locked. I'd like to be able to see more of the showings. I have Thu off and afternoons as I work nights. When would be the best time this year? Would like to buy some inexpensive art - something that catches my eye. I have no art background
