FREDERICK FULMER



Frederick was born in Columbia, South Carolina and received his B.F.A. in painting and print making from Virginia Commonwealth University. He presently lives and works in Venice and Joshua Tree, California

His recent paintings are abstract assemblage incorporating organic materials into acrylic medium. He gathers the materials by taking walks through the desert, collecting iron ore, glass shards, burnt wood, charcoal, bones, diamond dust and other obtanium from the natural terrain.

thanks for your comment. That was a group-performance at the plaza. we used collected flower from the streets. i see you also collect materials. and by the way, your work is great. i'll try adding you as friend later because it's not working for me either. probably problems of the site.

Thanks for the note. I have very fond memories of VCU. I am out in the desert (Joshua Tree) most every weekend. If your out this way stop by. i am always picking up materials from the desert to incorporate into my paintings. Look forward to seeing more of your work. It would be wonderful to have you come for the studio tour in Venice.

Hey Fred I'm in Sky Valley and Torrance but mostly in the desert. My daughter is assistant to the president of VCU and we have, I feel, a similar obsession with the tactile stuff. Check out my profile and tell me what you think. I'll try to make the artwalk.
