Olympics , who needs them.

This is the full version of the drastically edited letter in AN magazine October 2008. There are numerous activities developing following the recent announcement that one third of the budget for the Arts Council is being cut to invest in the Olympic Games. I was heartened to see that an artist organisation in London has organised a re training day to get artists in a more sportsman like frame of mind; however I think you will find that artists are quite well trained at numerous sport like activ… Continue

Ha, nauseating pixies, who's kids? not mine that's for sure! Sadly I'm not all that surprised at what you've told me. Sorry to hear that. It's yet another example of ineptitude within this county. Really glad I asked, thanks for the advice Paul. I'll take heed if anything comes of it. K.

Well I didn't go to see the infantile display of tweeness that was in the rest of the space! Actually I was dropping off pieces for the competition and was delighted to see something of integrity there, gave me some hope that it might not be a wasted trip. Thanks to you!
Wondering - have they treated you there as well as you deserve? I'm interested because in the slim chance that I might win (!) they are offering a solo show - a risky prospect considering they will have at most three pieces of work and no background info to help with their decision. I rather like the fact they are taking a chance.

Hi Paul - Mik Godley pointed me in this direction! I saw the Carlile Collection on saturday - absolutely loved it. Appealing to me in every sense. I hung round it for ages, pulled in by the order, the sensitivity, patina, the history. I loved the way it related to the floor, like these objects had floated to the surface magnetically drawn together by what they shared. Each fragment equally revered. Good to see more of your work on here. Great stuff.
