the changing of social boundaries fused with evolving artistic attitudes

The paintings use Victorian Erotica as a source and make reference to the over tolerance of pornographic imagery in today’s society. By contemplating these various perspectives created around erotic photography, the boundaries of taste and taboo are called into question. Our pre-defined attitudes towards social acceptability may be brought into context.

Open to all artists in all fine arts media we seek to recognize outstanding quality and diversity in the arts.

The 2009 IJC is open to all artists worldwide, age 18 and older. All works must be original. Entries in the following medias will be accepted: Painting, Drawing, Mixed media, Printmaking, Watercolor, Ceramics, Sculpture, and Photography.

Entry Deadline February 15th 2009.

I consider my self a "Writer" because I "wrote" my name and did "masterpieces" based on my name, on the sides of NYC subways and other public surfaces in the early 1970s.

What many uneducated people call "graffiti" which in italian means "to scrawl," and is a denigrating title imposed by racist, classist powerful people in the U.S.A., on an art form invented by the children of the working class.
