Gasin,
Your Sun-catching picts r so touching.!!!!
What can I give u as a token of congratulation, except my feeble effort to catch the same mood? And moreover I can introduce my only sweet daughter ULKI (means Tattoo in Bengali) which shows a more warm friendship and regards to you.
This is Mandarmoni beach on the Bay of Bengal.
Hello again, Gasin. Thank you for your kind words. I have been always trying to explain to myself why I am so interested in making photographs. I have friends, and sons, who are very gifted in the areas of drawing and painting, and somehow I used to feel second-rate, being a photographer, and them being able to create an image from nothing.
Finally, I think that the difference is that they create the reality of the image, in whatever media. We work with absolute physical
reality, but what we bring to the table is our portrayal, or selective presentation of the subject, also however we influence the final image by our technical competence and an understanding of how to manipulate the variables to achieve the end result we desire.
Ansel was a Master Technician, and also had the gift, you have to know WHAT to point the camera at, and WHEN to push the button :) And, that is ONLY the beginning of the process, then you go in the darkroom.
I see much promise in your work. Shoot............shoot, and shoot some more.
Be well, do good work, and stay in touch
