About my artwork: My abstract paintings are comprised of lush, tactile layers of acrylic paint applied with palette knives and piping bags. The spaces in my works are ambiguous and change depending on the proximity of the viewer. The painted blooms and curls of acrylic are often mistaken for beads, strings or candy. Through surface texture and intuitively conceived colours and forms, I hope to evoke curiosity in the viewer through their immersion into the painted incident and shifting depths of the canvas.
