If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Drawing, Film, Painting, Photography
I am...
a first class honours degree graduate in Media and Communications who loves art. I was runner up in the Young Artists competition 1992, which was a competition for school children in England. Since then I have carried on painting for enjoyment over the years but recently I have decided to begin a new collection which will consist of larger pieces of work with a more ambitious style. I'm going to New York in a couple of weeks and will draw inspiration from there. Anything brought to mind has the potential to be art but until it's captured in some external context, it's nothing more than an individual's daydream.
About my artwork
My art work varies from black and white architectural photography (developed myself in the darkroom) to painting and ink drawing. But I am also a filmmaker and work a lot with this medium. However I want to focus this year on what I like to do best (and didn't have time to do much of while studying) which is painting portraiture and landscapes with an element of photo realism.
Artists I like
My favourite artists are Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Monet, Michelangelo, David Hockney, Henri Cartier Brosson, Salvador Dali, Andrew Tift, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein.
Interests
I have a passion for filmmaking. I enjoy painting on canvas, producing, directing and writing short film scripts, attending theatre productions, the cinema and art galleries. I have a particular interest in 1940/50's movies as well as Chinese cinema and Chinese language.
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
The From Russia exhibition at The Royal Academy of Arts.
The centre of the artworld is
nowhere and everywhere

Your photographs are beautiful, and keep your eye moving for ages. Making photos with line compositions is one of my favorite things to do.
