Scott Hunter's Friends

I am...: a collector of contemporary work, with an emphasis on painting, photography, drawings, and small scale sculpture. My interests center more and more on the practice of contemporary abstraction and conceptual painting, with a particular engagement with work addressing visual memory and its representations.

I am also a photographer (by avocation) and a neuroscience researcher/clinician (by profession).

About my artwork: See "Artists I like" (current) for a listing of some of the artists I collect. Recent commitments and acquisitions include works by Florian Morlat, Robert Orchardson, Kacy Maddox, Anthony Pearson, and William J. O'Brien.

My photographic work bridges my interests in representation and abstraction. I have taken to digital production in my practice, in an effort to stretch the boundaries of what I see and then am able to represent in an image.
