I am...
I was born in Belgium. I have completed a Master education in Photography at Sint Lukas, Brussels. I've spent the most part of my graduation-year in China where I have worked for and with Island 6 Arts Centre. Since my graduation, I have been traveling around for a bit. I participated in several exhibitions and my work has been published in some obscure books and magazines.
About my artwork
With my work, I always try to investigate a trend or a change in society which fascinates me. At the moment, I'm endlessly obsessed by the changes in social structures as a result of modern media. During my education, I mostly focussed on documentary photography. I love the way how documentary photography takes up a story and kind of 'files' it, structures it somehow. It uses a language which I try to capture. On the other hand, I try to embrace the aspect of aesthetics. I am convinced that the specific aesthetics of every series of any artwork caries the language that it speaks. Juggling these two notions, I try to work with image.
Artists I like
Sophie Calle, Chapman Brothers, Cindy Sherman, B&H Becher, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Dan Graham, Marcel Duchamp, Lucian Freud, David Cotterell, Betsabé Roméro, Peter Greenaway, Miles Davis, Banksy, David Hockney, Cy Twombly, Matta-Clarck, Frida Kahlo, Egon Schiele, Richard Avedon, Jenny Holzer, Jurgen Teller, Joseph Beuys, Jeff Wall, Hopper
Interests
New Media Art, Interfaces, Automation systems, semiotics, Jazz, Eclectic funk, Photography, Storytelling, Gaming, Good cult films, Woody Allen's, Hollywood blockbuster trends, Soap opera structures, Theather,

so i had to look up the term "flâneur", and found that you have an amazing insight into my experience as one who can be a rhter detached observer to my own life. thanks for taking time to look so deeply. I am going to take a look at you new work as you suggested, and would love to keep our dialogue going. i am starting a new body of work this month about co-dependency, which i think may lead to another body about sex offenders, since the two mindsets are tied together so deeply, (as victimizer and victim). maybe we can keep dialogue flowing around these ideas as well. you obviously have an interest in sex offender issues as well, and present an absolutely amazing perspective, as i said before. i just started working with sex offenders in my job, and am finding lots of fodder for work about HEALING them.

god. your work is so totally intriguing. i visited your site, and have to say that the crime scene series is so sensitive and disquieting and human and powerful. your photos are perfection.
