During my career I have explored the use of various media, having initially worked with small scale sculptural assemblage before becoming increasingly fascinated by the possibilities of digital cameras and Photoshop in the 1990s. The last three years have seen a return to my sculptural practice, although I now work at a much wider range of scales than in my earlier work. I have also sought to retain the taste for simplicity and immediacy that I gained from working with digital imaging technology in these new assemblages and installations.

Most of the sound pieces on this page also sprung from the same desire to re-arrange materials which are 'close at hand' that drives my sculpture, although in this case the materials were the various standard 'alert' sounds supplied with Windows XP.

There's a CV here...

Right and left, hide and viewed, perfect equilibrium or is is just to fall down!,Is like a graphics on the air like a subtle draw. what happened if all around the piece was pure white, even the floor and the ceiling...it would float..

o cool, yeah, busy is good it is good--
yr page is frickin cool.
thanks for asking, yeah, i think there's a lot more i want to write about this thumb thing, it's been a weird weird journey...next week i have another surgery to take off more of it, the part that didn't seem to heal from the first (or really second) lopping off (the first being the stupid accident where my motorcycle assemblage changed the anatomy of my thumb assemblage, the second being the surgery where they looked at the appendage and made a new assemblage), ha...and pain is like a doorway to lines of flight in an unusually unwelcome way, but it's still a doorway, and you know how much i like doorways--
good thoughts to you both--!

Hello Mike,
Just thought I'd pop over - saw you were active - and listen to your sounds.
G and I "experienced" Blade Runner last night through his sound system - I even heard stuff through his speakers I'd not picked up on before, though I stopped counting how many times I'd watched it years ago - you'd have loved it!
The students have been clay modeling today - I did wonder how you might take to that?
Better go - more fun and games with clay tomorrow. Must get to the sorting office - tried on Saturday, but they were closed.
Mmm, a guitar piece - you're branching out.

Thanks for that Michael - much appreciated. To my mind it's the terror of coy kitsch overkill. But you never answered my question
- was Arman French?

Our space is pretty small. Don't think we could accommodate works of this size. Thanks for your interest though.

Still not been to the sorting office! Today was my day off, and the sun was shining so I went to the studio and painted some landscapes - it was fun.
Irene's been here since Monday - we had a takeaway from the Mayfair - velly nice.
Back to school in the morning. Roll on Friday night. Oh well, it's all good fun really.
