If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?

About my artwork

A painting begins the moment the canvas is stretched; a blank canvas provides excitement due to the endless possibilities. The paint is poured, splashed and splattered onto the canvas and the resulting forms provide inspiration to place other forms on top of this painterly surface. I then continue by placing forms which react with the other shapes that have preceded it and selecting the colour to compliment or contradict the values and saturations in the composition. Consequently, no end result can be preconceived, which presents an exciting challenge. The resulting composition usually alludes to a weird, alternative reality, where forms will balance upon others, or strange objects appear awkwardly, which seem to have little relevance to the surrounding area. Furthermore, it is almost as if the forms have been imported into the pictorial space.
