If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Painting
I am...
a stubborn artist reworking and relaborating abstract and expressionist legacy and experimenting whether it has something to say to contemporary art. This archeologic attitude is united with the influence of southamerican and chinese culture . Till now i was talking more about my pedigree and family story but no more because even if i ve been very lucky to interact with different cultures and make them mine, it is my work which has to give an impact or not.abstract expressionism and expressionism is very masculine and even homophobic,my art is gay and think women artists have generally more to say. so i m an alchemist trying to decanter male chauvinist and western influence from a very retro art, also because i m young and music videos are as inspirational as art, and my operation is not nostalgic
About my artwork
young and fresh even if looks retro. i m intereested in the energy of painting , which can be similar to music, yet differnt. synesthesia and dyslexia makes colour like a note, whith the rythm of samba r@b, pop. Painting fighs with natural staticity.use of material like pesticides spices vinaviland concrete fights with traditional painting and create cacophony and harmony, mix or split into different personalities.my oaintings are made of stains of dirt are poisonous yet are medicine. every cure can kill, every medicine can be lethal, according to the quantitywork is about life nad death, microcosmos macrocsmos, accepting and briodging polarities. dirt has a moral sense of iniquity of sin, so therefore conceptual and minimalistic art has a moral background, the canvas or the medium is left more or less pristine and immaculate.on the other hand when i paint i get dirty wiyh paint or materials and the canvas is violated. this feedom is similar to the pleasure of children in getting dirt, a sense of frredom and optimism which is lacking in contemporary world.the economical crisis is due to a lack of optimism who strated with the 11 if september till the actual crisis. optimism is not a naive feeling but a force which pushes forward, but is useless without analysis. this was the problem witj vanguard art, tooo optimistic in science economy but with no concern of the consequences like the environment nor poverty. My work is highly environmental, but i m conscious that apocalitical messages are not accepted by mass population.optimism needs to work with responsibily.responsible art can be fun and full of colours

Beautiful work, Guilio. Many of the examples look like glazed pieces, and some even look like natural agates.
