I am...: Brazilian artist and doing a MA in London at Chelsea College of art and design.

About my artwork: This work is a development of my paintings in which I was interested in organic shapes and forms, fantasy landscapes, ludic worlds and innocence. From that I began to create a repertoire of figures within the compositional and pictorial framework, treading a fine line between the figurative and the abstract. Using the same procedure as my paintings, I continue to juxtapose layers of colours, but now using fabric. Figures are constructed by these accumulations, by veiling and unveiling. The subject I use, as the matter and base to be deconstructed are teddy bears, referring back to my original interest; innocence and forms. Their bold volume of colours retains and expands, interacting with each other. The layers are skins that hold these organic forms, these improbable creatures.
