About my artwork
Mostly explorations in texture generated by random application of whatever I find that seems to fit the requirement. I paint for fun, not profit which is just as well because otherwise I'd starve.
I am a graphic designer currently working in surf culture and eyewear.
Artists I like

I've been keeping blog - rogerstuff.blogspot.com - theres a whole series of progress photos of this painting on there and shots of a lot of other work. I'm thinking, though, that this environment is better for art than the other one. What do you do - keep 2 blogs? Seems to me that you spend a lot of time duplicating entries.

Hi Roger.
Thanks for your comment.
I think you spelled her name absolutely right. Yes I do like her work, both the prints and the paintings.
I like the textural quality of your work. I'm sure it would be even better in person.
Take care,
Julie Caves

yeah it's sort of facebook for artists only - I feed my blog into into it so I don't have to type it twice. The profile of the artists and institutes is quite high on this site. I have gone back to work so I will only be able to contribute to all my blogs very slowly. I am back at a hardware store - can't seem to rise above no matter how hard I try - too many kids and marriages and mortgages and all that stuff - would love to be a full time artist and really accelerate - I am a bit sad at the moment.
The blogs work in a different way - you increase traffic by commenting on others and having that something different. My cousin Darren who runs Problogger is a bit of a blogging star and makes his entire living from blogging.

Roger,

Thank you very much for your comments. I enjoyed your searches. They show courage, plasticity, sensiblity and force. They will certainly lead you toward your goals. I personally enjoy the works of all the artists that teach me something. Best wishes, Dany

Joseph Beuys - that's a good idea, he's there in the background, but I haven't thought about him at all recently. And restraint? Well, we would not know what that meant unless exuberance was in evidence elsewhere.
