I am...: An art maker who is currently half way through an MA in visual arts practices, working along side artists curators and critics on the course. I am hopeing to open up a discourse with other artmakers so as to place my work in context; I want to engage with the art of others to help better understand the core issues central to contemporary art, and to look for a theoretical framework and context for my own work. I would hope to develop a way of working in collaboration with others to broaden my horizons outside of the island of Ireland.

About my artwork: My work is an investigation into the understanding of spatial awareness and human existence and employs visual reference to maps and navigational devices. The artwork explores the subjects of topography, mapping, islands, time and history. I am particularly interested in using readymade and found objects to expand my practice away from the conventions employed within two dimensional media.

At 12:49am on 23rd February 2008, David said…: When I visited Anthony McCall's show at the Serpentine, I was pleased and surprised to see a couple of photographs I took of him in the 1970's on display (he's dressed in white, crawling out of a smoking building). In those distant days, he was largely ignored and only a tiny group of people recognized his talent. I gave him the negs and hoped they might serve him well, and then our paths parted for reasons outside our control.

As for scale it tends to differ a lot the smallest being 12"x12" and the largest up to 5ftx6ft. I may list the scale of each of the works on here at some point.
