Always good to hear from you. I had a show at Total Kunst Gallery in Edinburgh for the Festival and it rained and it rained and it rained. God, was it grim. The gallery itself was fine. Check this - one wall of my show there - documentation which kind of became a work in itself:

Now I am back down Perpignan way and slowly drying out. It may take some time. I wish you sunshine and sales and a culturally conscious customs official!!! Dream on!! Have a great show and keep in touch.

Its really interesting to see your sculptural works here, as I had only come across your paintings and drawings before. They are really interesting and seem to bring your 2dimensional landscapes into a spatial reality and awareness. Like a set from a different world, a world of fairies,...magical...supernatural,...and yet also plastic, caricatured, fake and prop like. I love the intricacy in your drawings in relation to the vaste expanses of white...

"See Naples and die." It was a phrase coined during the reign of the Bourbons of Naples, considered by historians to have been the city's Golden Age. Until its annexation to the Kingdom of Italy in 1861, the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies was the wealthiest and most industrialized of the various Italian states. Naples was the third most populous city of Europe (after London and Paris), and certainly one of the most opulent. Even today, a visit to Naples would not be complete without seeing the royal palaces in and near the city.
It means that before you die you must experience the beauty and magnificence of Naples. Some say that it was Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe of Faust fame who coined the phrase. In 1786-88 he made a journey to Italy, which inspired his play IPHIGENIE AUF TAURIS, and RÖMISHE ELEGIEN, sensuous poems relating partly to Christiane Vulpius, who became Goethe's mistress in 1789.The phrase can be found in Italian Journey {1786-1788} (Penguin Classics) "
So we can all blame Goethe. But I think that, especially in the shadow of the volcano,it can also be used ironically? Not that I did so. Hmmm...
Good luck with the naples show, I bet it looks great, wish i was there to see it. Your new web address looks good too.

I dont know where yet but London probably. Waiting on a couple to get back but all seem happy with the idea of the show. What you think, would you be interested if I can get it off the ground?
