I am...
An Australian visual artist based currently in London.
Working with various mediums, my commissions and projects have involved painting, illustration, photography, screen-print, set and costume design, short film, installation, music and performance. As well as exhibiting in solo and group shows and projects, I have travelled the world playing traditional eastern European music on double bass.
About my artwork
I am inspired mainly by mythology, folk-lore, story telling, legends, fantasy, history and ancient cultures. My artwork usually has a narrative and is a way of me delving into stories and beliefs of times past.
I enjoy creating work specifically for storylines and therefore also do illustration work.
Artists I like
Brian Froud, Hieronymus Bosch, Dali, Rubens, Pieter Brueghel and many more
Interests
Folk-lore, eastern european music, playing double bass, travel, working collaboratively- LET'S FILL THE WORLD WITH ART AND MUSIC :)

Am off to Scotland to explore ruins, stone circles and amazing landscapes, so if I do not answer peoples posts for a while, it is because I wont have been near a computer. Happy art making all :)

Szia Melinda,

ye I have done some experimenting today on canvass (an abstract) using charcoal and oil and acrylic all at once. wo the energy! it's pazo. i do really like the statue of Anon so I think what I would have to do is have a flat backgound with the basic outline of the body with a flat/mars black acrylic. block style. Then I could pick a section for the intensity to come through in mix media and have the majority of the 'pieces' of the figure painted in acrylic with fine detail - to preserve the figure and make the theme work. If you can picture a Francis Bacon image where a body is quite neat and tidy but the hand say might be very chaotic. I am much better at working that way than straight one to one real life.

I was sad had not heard of the Serbian player you mentioned. We lost some very big names in jazz last year along with Michael Brecker... I listened to the folk station you gave me today - incredible - they had Romanian music that reminded of my Taraf De Haidouks cd I had in Toronto.

By way... thanks for the info on the Australian station. One copy of New Day Vol 1 went to Australia but that was 2 years ago - forgot the name of station. Let me know before you leave - we can arrange to maybe meet up at summer end - I have some collages with hungarian text cuttings from last year that also may be useful for collab. Best, Luke :)

Hi Melinda, here are three sites that I gave to Maren Jeskanen yesterday and they worked for her:

http://shop.allaboutjazz.com/aaj/releases/adam-daudrich/animots
http://cdbaby.com/cd/adamdaudrich
http://cdbaby.com/cd/lgadatr

(the first track on New Day Vol I def. had remnants of the Hungarian scale built in. I wrote it in B flat as a diminished chord (a pro composer later explained to me). It was written on piano but recorded on tenor saxophone. There is also a transition to A flat minor at end of song. Unbelievably the song was actually played on an indie radio station in France called RCT Radio. I think we got very lucky. Talk soon, Luke :)
