If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Event, Painting
I am...
Here, I am here, I am here
About my artwork
My work stems from alot of visual imagery I see everywhere I go, not just things that are pleasing to the eye, but the things that most of us don't really bother to see at all. I see the paintings in my head long before I get around to putting them on canvas.

My events are much more social commentary and usually are based on events that are currently happening in my life. I am currently planning on a series of icon placements outside of federal facilities, and most probably won't see it as politically correct, but so what.
Artists I like
All kinds, street artist, established artist, painters, sculptors. I honestly don't really pay much attention to artist or not as much as I pay to the work they create that gives me a tingle.
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
I could not tell you, I am finally getting back into the art world after a long pause.
The centre of the artworld is
nowhere and everywhere

Very Surprised

I've been painting, and making things sense I was s kid, I've never recieved this much attention for any thing before and I am surprised that my work strikes a chord in anyone. I thought I was cursed with this sight, seeing things in my head, then being forced, driven by things unseen to make it tangable on canvas or through the lense of a camera. I've been scared to tell any but the nearest friends that the paintings really meant something, mostly I just say, it was something I was thinking abo… Continue

Day Two,

Today is the second day of an unwanted job search as well as the second day I've been playing with what it really means for me to be an artists. I mean I've spent the money on the formal education, I've got the bills to prove it. When I paint it feels so natural, nothing forced and when I don't paint it feels like there is a giant hole in my life, either way the give and take of being an artists is enough to make the very sane, question reality itself. When I look around thei site, I see so man… Continue

Getting Back to Center

After years of working myself away from center I think I've finally reached that point where getting back to center is more important than just about any thing else I can do. For me back to center means finding a way to show the work I make and not concern myself so much with what others think or feel about the work. Letting go of the need for approval and just dealing with what I need to do to make work that pleases me

Hi Jonallen,
very simple. Your camera represents your eyes directing us where you look at things, objects, places. I noticed that your photos show the scene I think I would not pay attention to and you make it very nostalgia and sentimental, and i like that. As a metaphor for seeing people taking what we have for granted, :)

hope this answers.

Hi, I love your photos. You have a very unique pair of camera eyes. Some how they remind me of the place and house that my grands used to live (though the architecture were of course different from Western).

thanks for the comment! A/través is an older video, but I still like it. I think it successfully captured and transmits the anguish of living in a metropolis, and the struggle to remain an individual among the crowd.
