About my artwork
In its varied modes, my artwork exposes the division between the human subject and his or her world. This is often accomplished through use of anthropomorphization. I am attempting to highlight ways in which our relationship with nature, science and technology has devolved by showcasing representations in which individuality, humanness and “the natural” appears as foreign, distant, and/or manipulable. I am also working to show that a distinction between the natural and science/technology can be difficult to pin down, which suggests a breakdown in the traditional polarized conception of these two realms: questions arise as to whether a digitally created landscape is as valid as a natural one, or whether the cloned life is still alive, whether it is considered a copy, just a variation or indelibly unique.

Through my most recent artworks, I attempt to speak to a contemporary relationship with nature based on the manipulation of nature through technology, anticipating the strain that humankind is building as it exerts its dominance on all material and virtual forms.
The centre of the artworld is
nowhere and everywhere
