Surely there is no such term as a best painter. Not within the Artreview community nor anywhere else. At least not in my book.
In general I hate boring categorization such as this. It is not about being bad, good or best. To be a good painter you were once novice, bad perhaps or less experienced might be a better term.
To be the best you have peaked standing on top of the world cluesless of what to strive for perhaps. I am still learning, searching and will always try to develop my skills.
How others categorize me as an artist is not important to me besides the fact that I need to sell my art. But I will never sell out seeking this.
It is, however, always is nice to know that someone out there respect and appreciate my efforts. Even more so when I learn of this appreciation through public messages like Lukes and like yours. I am grateful for Lukes appreciation of my work as am I positive that Lukes comments made you care ;O) It is hardly interesting whether a painting is nice or not is it?
I barely and only know Luke from his very positive support here on art review shown below.
To me it is all about the process each and every time. I hope this answers your question.
Stay inspired!
Best Mik ;o
thank you for your feedback and positive comments. I am noticing atrend. That when I put up more 'chaotic' and 'busy' pieces they attract more attention. Bizarro!
I had a look again at your main website - your work is crazy - I wish I could connect you to a proper agent but my work is quite experimental and the relationships that go with it. However.............. there is a gallery in Bristol called:
SPIKE ISLAND STUDIO.
They are quite big - I am quite sure that if you sent them an email asking to join a group show they would look at your website and invite you straight away. Would be very surprised if they did not respond.
Ok please stay in touch - I will put up photos of our show after November,

I hae put up 7 new paintings - I have to say I was very much influenced by your work when you first joined artreview and still hope you can do a show in the UK. Check outmy new stuff and tell me if you see something you like.
They are all labelled 1 to 7 etc etc.
Best Luke ::]]
cheers!
