I am...
looking for American veterans of recent international conflict for a new work that looks to visualize redemption and takes on the possibilities for what a solider can represent about who we are in our current culture.
About my artwork
Denise Prince's concept based works utilize a variety of non-traditional media. Her concerns center on the possibilities for elegance and light in the face of the unspeakable.
Artists I like
Pina Bausch, Theo Jansen, Petah Coyne -particularly her "Untitled #978 Gertrude and Juliana (The Whitney Women)", Andrea Bowers, Zhang Huan except for the bestiality, Dan Flavin, etc.
Interests
The possibility for human beings to embody divinity. Gardening. Intuition. Cooking. Travel. China. Tennis. Preservng the landscape and surfer culture in Point Dume, CA.
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
Fabián Bercic's Zen Garden at the Blanton Museum of Art, Austin, TX; Olafur Eliasson's Waterfalls; END GAME - British Contemporary Art from the Chaney Family Collection at the MFA in Houston, Texas; and William Cordova, Oliver Lutz and Marcos Ramirez Erre at Artpace, San Antonio

The life is great here. That is what is great about Austin. I think the scene is better in many other cities. I've always said if I can live here and travel then that's the best solution. I think the scene here is great just small. Marfa is interesting and unique, Houston is the best in TX and even San Antonio might be stronger if you're thinking TX. Keep in touch!
