If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Drawing, Painting
I am...
Intrigued by what this world has to offer… Creativity is in my blood. I am just a simple guy with loads to offer; given the chance. It started at a tender age of 4 when my mum, an art teacher gave me my first set of oil pastels. It was then that she introduced me to the art of mixing colors and the effects of lighting. I just followed without knowing too much. All I knew then was that my paintings looked so real and it was all thanks to my mum. Since then it's been art competitions year after year; all throughout my schooling years. I've won a lot and it became my way of getting extra cash. Throughout my years as a student, I took lessons with a famous local artist known to many as L.S. Chong. I admired her subtle and yet strong brush strokes. Sadly, she's passed and moved on to another world. I progressed from oil pastels to chalk pastels, water color and a few other medias, which includes pencil shading. Art was my life, my achievement...
About my artwork
Then came university. I kinda abandoned painting and was reduced to sketching during lectures... This went on until a few years back where I've progressed from realistic to abstract expressionistic art. I do not have any particular influence. It's all due to how I see the world and how I see to express my emotions. I 've progressed to an art style that gives me complete freedom and liberty in expression. I've come to realize that art is really subjective and that beauty really does belong to the beholder. Who's to say that a painting is ugly??? Who's to critic a painting? Everyone has his or her right to paint and be proud of it... In the end, it's all about art being a channel for absolute freedom in the human expression. "An artwork is one that connects with it's viewer"
Artists I like
There are too many to mention. I admire the paintings, not much of the artists themselves.
Interests
Art, art, art...
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
