If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Digital, Film, Installation, Performance, Photography, Video
I am...
a bookseller, musician, photographer and part time publisher of art books, music and poetry.
About my artwork
The recent work "The Children of Mu" retraces mankind's psychic origin and the evolution of shadow theater to film as seen through the works of Madame Blavatsky. Live performance, shadow puppets, digital projections and animations are being mixed into the film version, "Rehearsal for the Destruction of Mu".
Previous film collections of mine were released as "Grow Live Monsters" 1971-1979. "The MC5: Kick out the Jams" with Leni Sinclair and "Strange Frut" which was included in the 2002 Whitney Biennial.
I perform and write music for the groups "Destroy All Monsters" and "Monster Island". Some of my music was recently featured in the films "Jack Smith and the Destruction of Atlantis" and "How to Draw a Bunny" - a document on the artist Ray Johnson.
Artists I like
Jack Smith, Ray Johnson, Man Ray, Vali Myers, Eduardo Paolozzi, Tadanori Yokoo, F. Holland Day, Robert Frank, L. Moholy-Nagy
