After months of being "offline" I am finally back. Part of what took me away was summer months in Chicago and needing to be outdoors (before the winter comes and I am stuck inside for months), and I went to Russia for 2 weeks - a most facinating place. I look forward to gettnig back to my art and the rest of the world.

The setting is an intimate art gallery in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago.
I had been here once before, during the open studio tour in the fall of 2006. It's a decent space, not huge, not tiny. What it might lack in square footage is made up with the kind of work that is on show.
Granted, I have only been there twice, but I left the gallery impressed more or less with what I had seen.

I have been in Chicago for over a year now. I have been trying to be the best "Chicagoan" I can be by taking in all the must do's that Chicago has to offer.
I will admit that I am lax in a lot of things that I should be experiencing here in this fantastic city. There is just SO much to do here - and all of it is a must. Working just seems to get in the way of my experiencing this city in any sort of reasonable amount of time.

The 2009 IJC is open to all artists worldwide, age 18 and older. All works must be original. Entries in the following medias will be accepted: Painting, Drawing, Mixed media, Printmaking, Watercolor, Ceramics, Sculpture, and Photography.
Entry Deadline February 15th 2009.

A solo show next winter 2009 at Bluebird Art House and $1500 to the winner. 1 work in the show for each one of the 3 runner up.
