About my artwork
I work on paper on stretched linen; the softness of the material absorbs every increment. I crave surface tension, textural variations and a melancholic palette, but most of all, a sense of humor so that the painting can laugh back at me.
Maybe I transgress through materials, I am obsessed with line… I can’t leave things alone; I have to move things, adding and subtracting, finding the right balance, the right placement. Painting is about memory, with a slight possibility to stop time; it is a form of performance. It all comes down to weights and balances.
