If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Drawing
I am...
trying to live a simple, meaningful and non-material life.
About my artwork
I embrace the idea of drawing as a simple everyday human activity. I engage with the world around me, and draw connections between it and my own inner landscape, hunting for meaning and wholeness along the way. Meditation, ritual and repetition help me to get there.
Artists I like
Agnes Martin, Wolfgang Laib, the Abstract Expressionists
The centre of the artworld is
nowhere and everywhere

Janet: Thank you for your concepts, I am encouraged to continue.
I don't know what is a wacon tablet, that's why i don't use it (obviusly), The drawings are made without any artifacts,
some graphite, and other digital.

Janet, I just saw your comment on my blog that you made on the 20th of march. In answer to your question - the commentary printed from my blog, displayed next to each work was successful. I tried to get the visitors to see the input/output nature of how artists work. I received some good and valid feedback. I ran a blogging workshop as well - about 20 or so attended. Yes, I believe that more people visited my blogs and few started there own. Will check out your blog.

Janet, sorry for taking so long to respond to your message/ comment on my photo. Thank you so much for your positive feedback. With regards to you work: wow, talk about grace. Your work is beautiful and very skillfully executed. I especially like your drawings that are the first two that I'm viewing on your profile page. They look like drawings but as I'm viewing them closer they may also be intaglios? -hm not sure but they are beautiful!

Hey. I saw the show at Peter Blum, it was great to see some work 'in the flesh' as it were. I had to stay for a while to take it all in, my friends weren't so convinced and moved on though! Made me realise It will be a challenge to get all visitors to spend that time with my work. I was a bit confused about the curators decision to leave that gap on the rear wall though, Quite possibly to symbolise the change in direction, but very odd.

I am working with sound, although really trying to establish just what at the moment. I think its about that gap between noise and silence, or at least the idea of having somewhere quiet to stop and think, admitting that silence does not exist anywhere that a human is. I saw a really good piece by Kriss Martin at the Hoxton Square White Cube this week, one of those that makes you annoyed you didn't think of it first!

Ar you totally committed to drawing then? In which case how do you define drawing - at what point does a drawing become a sculpture or a painting? Big questions we are encouraged to deal with at uni! i think I shall be doing some drawing myself, but it is very likely to be grid based, although I intend to keep that impressionistic feel to it somehow!

Janet - I'm flattered but if you can learn anything from me it is probably ''how not to''!!! All I do is paint the world as I see it and that's not always straightforward or inviting. But it's often darkly funny. And I'm glad you noticed the washed out light. We aim to subvert and disturb.

I'd protect your ''small Zen clearing'' with all the strength you can muster. Irony may be your best shield.
Check back as often as you like and stay in touch but your drawing skills are enviable and your work equistite.
You will find all you need in your work. Bonne chance!
