If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Painting
I am...
I received my degree at San Diego State University in art education, working in various media, including illustration, ceramics, textiles, furniture, murals, sculpture, acrylic and oil painting. I have worked as an artist painting for the public at Sea World for seven years hand painting letter brush paintings. I have been active as an arts educator and Have my teaching credential in art-I have taught children at the San Diego Children’s Museum as a Resident artist, Coronado High School, and other schools. I have participated in many local artists groups, shows and public arts.
About my artwork
I like to paint from my mind, not always what is seen around us, my work has a little of a mystical, surrealist, abstractive quality to it. I have been painting the mandala form since 1998, expressing the need for balance in life, the paintings are is a reflection of balance and symmetrical natures of the universe and spiritual essence of all within. Devoting her life to art because she believes art enriches our lives and spirits.

Artist’s statement

My paintings are influenced by the mandalas of many cultures and the symmetrical natures of our universe. Mandala is the Sanskrit word for circle. In religious art, the mandala is used to symbolize the universe- the circle of eternity. The mandala is a spiritual art form found around the world and within many historical cultures; the mandalas are a symbolic representation of the macro and the micro, what lies within and without. Mandala art has been used throughout the world as a process of self-expression, in the service of personal growth and spiritual transformation. Each piece is allowed to develop in an organic manner, starting from the center and working outward, using a combination of airbrush and acrylic paints. Through my art I strive to create more balance in our chaotic world.
Artists I like
Bosch, Dali, Esher, Mucha, Grey and too many more to list
The centre of the artworld is
nowhere and everywhere
