I am...: I am having work in a show during the month of August at ADA Gallery in Richmond, VA. In addition, I will exhibit work in One Moment, a show at Indiana University in Bloomington in the fall.

About my artwork: The perception of appearance is the subject of my work. I am interested in the appeal of beauty, but also in creating a sense of discomfort and confusion. My work has explored aspects of contradiction, including concealment and revelation, perception and reality, and beauty and repulsion. I use letterforms, textile patterns, elements of architecture, graphic arts and other imagery, fragmenting and layering the images to show the confusion and unease of miscommunication.
