Mark Leckey is favourite to win Turner Prize

With only a few hours to go until tonight's Turner prize ceremony at Tate Britain, William Hill has placed Mark Leckey as even-money favourite to win the award, reports the Guardian. Cathy Wilkes on the other hand has the 'worst odds in history', William Hill according to spokesman Rupert Adams, who says Wilkes only garnered 'three bets and none of them over £10'.

The Guardian's Jonathan Jones put his critical weight behind Leckey. Adrian Searle thinks filmmaker Runa Islam the strongest candidate.

Despite scathing reviews (including calls for the prize to be scrapped altogether), 60,000 visitors have seen the exhibition, double the number of the equivalent period last year, when the exhibition was hosted at Tate Liverpool, and only slightly under the 70,000 mark recorded in recent years.

The prize-giving is live on Channel 4 tonight at 7.50pm.
