One day I might learn to detach, slow down and check the grammar of what I write about the works of
Tereza Buskova. However, that seems to be a massive task given the exciting whirlwind that currently surrounds us.
On the same day that critic
Eliza Williams wrote that she found Tereza’s works confusing (10th July, Frieze Online), the
Art Gallery of Hamilton's 10th Annual International Film and Video Festival Bell Canada Award Jury had already found her intriguing enough to screen alongside 23 other directors including
Guy ‘the David Lynch of Canada’
Maddin.
In fact they had already judged that her Super 8mm film ‘Wedding Rituals’ warranted the
Bell Canada Award for Short Film and Video over others already
‘featured at prestigious international festivals such as the Sundance Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Locarno Film Festival’ (Art Gallery of Hamilton).
