Frieze week forecast: tentative at best

By artreview.com

The Wall Street Journal reports on some pre-Frieze week jitters: the Swiss Cultural Fund in Britain is paying all fees for the eight Swiss galleries participating in the Zoo Art Fair, dealers are planning on showing big, bankable works with museums and institutions as their target buyers, and there are concerns that American collectors won't show up.

As already reported, satellite fairs Pulse and Year08 have been cancelled, and Bridge has relocated to Berlin for its October showing, since it costs '20 times less' to produce a fair there, according to its director, Michael Workman.

Look out for Istanbul's PiST gallery at Frieze, which is setting up a Turkish tea shop in its booth, a project by Didem Özbek. The refreshment may be very welcome.
