About my artwork: Analogue photography, Portraiture, Documentary. In this new collection RAW STREET DOWN, his pictures of everyday street scenes from London & Osaka catches the vibrancy of two cities separated by space and culture, yet, become one when seen through a unique perspective which distills everyday life into utopian moments of sublime abstraction of light and dark. Immerse yourself in the energy of his vision where he captures the essence of two cities that share an adherence to their rich history and enjoy the total obliviousness of their denizens when held in his unique gaze. Yoshi embraces minimalism in a way to avoid what he describes as “mid-tone saturation”, his work has a vibrancy which is highly evocative and subtle.

Artists I like: Antoine d’Agata, Dido Moriama, Wlliam Klein, Andy Wharhol and Larry Clarke.

What exhibitions are good at the moment?: I am currently holding my first solo street photography exhibition RAW STREET DOWN - Raw edge displayed everyday street scenes, with the sound track of 'street sound' designed by HKB FiNN

Open to all artists in all fine arts media we seek to recognize outstanding quality and diversity in the arts.

The 2009 IJC is open to all artists worldwide, age 18 and older. All works must be original. Entries in the following medias will be accepted: Painting, Drawing, Mixed media, Printmaking, Watercolor, Ceramics, Sculpture, and Photography.

Entry Deadline February 15th 2009.
