About my artwork
My work is painstakingly repetitive and precise, made in a meticulous and labour-intensive manner with an almost ‘geeky passion’. My practice is concerned with the notions of collecting, display, repetition, tedium and categorisation. The lines are purposely blurred between Natural History Museums, Science Laboratories and Work environments in the hopes of discovering the hidden possibilities of everyday, overlooked materials. By adapting and manipulating, I juxtapose mass produced materials and handcrafted objects, continuing their life span and creating new narratives.
Artists I like
Mark Dion, Susan Hiller, Antony Gormley, Chris Ofili, Alberto Giacometti, Egon Schiele, Louise Bourgeois, Andy Goldsworthy, Gary Hume, Erin Shie Palmer, Cornelia Parker, David Mach, Sir Peter Blake, Tom Friedman...
Interests
cycling on my old bike, playing with cats, collecting and laughing
