- I am intrigued by the universality of symbols, the sacred, religions, spirituality - this is my image language! I know that I am connected to the whole and my art is part of my ritual in search for meaning and belonging.
Resonating with the timeless Andean textural palette, I use - gauze, burlap, rope and sand to form my compositions, I reduce these textures to raw structures before bringing my colors to life by layers. My textures appear out of tactile memories: colors smells, fellings, prayers and emotions, offerings, rituals and secrets …. like poetry and dreams.
My work has been deeply enriched by my awareness of my heritage. I am Peruvian and Italian, French and West Indian – After fifteen years of living in North America I went back to my golden light of arid coastal Peru, where I grew up seeing the blue-purple-silver and yellow-orange-gold metallic colors of sand vibrating in my mind.

Fue en el exilio donde volvieron las preguntas. ¿Quién Soy? ¿De dónde vengo?
Separada de mi tribu y en la distancia, retomé conciencia de mi rico bagaje cultural. Primero, la nostalgia de mi paisaje costeño, árido, metálico, lleno de mi infancia. Después, el recuerdo más profundo: La experiencia de haber caminado por tierras ancestrales pobladas de Dioses y Chamanes, despertando la memoria de otros tiempos. Todavía recuerdo la primera vez que visité Chan Chan, la ciudad de barro de una antigua cultura lunar del norte del Perú. Entre sus paredes orladas se escuchaba el silbido de la energía femenina. Desde entonces, mis pinturas se anidan en ese centro energético sagrado.
Soy heredera de una cultura Mágico-Religiosa, me intriga lo subjetivo, el mito, lo mágico, lo espiritual. Me interesa plasmar el espíritu de las cosas. El ritmo de mi composición es un espiral que me arrastra hacia búsquedas hondas, cada vez más profundas, para luego retornar a mi centro y de aquí, nuevamente, comenzar un espiral de eterno retorno.
El tejido es una constante de mi arte. Para mis antepasados el universo era una trama en donde cada parte se enlazaba, amarraba, anudaba entre sí y con el todo.
Las antiguas tejedoras recreaban el mundo, lo ordenaban en un entramado de hilos y colores. Heredera de esa tradición, en mis obras creo, palpo y texturo mis emociones. Abro, añado, desgarro la tela... transparento, plasmo mi universo personal, el sutil punto de encuentro entre mi espíritu y mi imaginación, dejándome llevar intuitivamente por las sensaciones, aromas, los colores y la luz.
He regresado a mi lugar de origen, trayendo conmigo esa diversidad geográfica y cultural y las tantas historias que me inspiraron y los mitos que me iluminaron. Contrastarlos con mi bagaje cultural me llevó a vislumbrar las similitudes en la Simbología Universal y rendirme sensible a la Arquitectura Sagrada. Mi obra contiene los símbolos primordiales que remiten a la trascendencia del principio creador femenino, a los cultos primarios, pero también los gruesos estratos construidos por el tiempo de la historia, que la ocultan o desvanecen. Mi lienzo-universo entreteje los recuerdos de los espacios habitados, los tiempos vividos y los secretos guardados.
