- a visual artist, autodidact, living/working in vienna. since more than 20 years involved in creative processes that include on one hand producing art/music, organizing/curating but also finding alternative ways of living, like for example squatting houses....
- About my artwork
- Within my artistic work I am operating very clearly in the doctrine of the performative. My productions are mostly combinations of video, installative drawings, literary elements as well as livemusic. Hence the performances are aligned with installations and the concept „multimedia conglomerates“ is a quite fitting description of my works. Through the combination of all included medias my productions can be seen as a kind of „musical“ that transgresses the limits for each of the individual art-forms by mixing them in an innovative and unconventional way.
I am working on twisting the common perceptions of reality and the system of norms, patterns and social interaction that controls it. By doing so, the object is to create a critique of values that are often presented as being objective true and to produce an image of an utopic, but possible universe, where everyone is co-creating reality through open interaction and active positioning. In order to deliver my messages I often adopt the methods of commercial strategies. Hence my works are granted a various grotesque, sometimes even kitschy appearance, despite their ironic seriousness.
