No Tate Triennial for 2012

Artist posters revealed for Olympics and Paralympics

The twelve Olympic posters designed by British artists for the 2012 games have been revealed. The artists are Martin Creed, Anthea Hamilton, Howard Hodgkin, Chris Ofili, Bridget Riley, Rachel Whiteread, Fiona Banner, Michael Craig-Martin, Tracey Emin, Gary Hume, Sarah Morris and Bob and Roberta Smith.

Julie Lomax appointed new Visual Arts Director, OzCo

Current Arts Council England Visual Arts Director Julie Lomax has been appointed the equivalent role at the Australia Council for the Arts. Lucian Freud, 1922–2011

Lucian Freud, one of the great figures of British painting, has died. The artist was 88. His New York dealer, William Acquavella, who announced the news, said in a statement that not only was Freud one of the exemplary painters of the twentieth century but he was "also a very dear friend", adding, "In company he was exciting, humble, warm and witty. Raphaël Dallaporta wins Foam Paul Huf Award 2011

Raphaël Dallaporta has won the Foam Paul Huf Award 2011, an open submission prize for photographers, held annually in memory of Huf, who died in 2002. please find attached here the pdf form of the "World Art day Brochure" printed by UPSD the National Turkish Committee part of IAA, world International Art Associations.

The brochure gives the details on the selection by IAA general Assembly in Guadalajara in April 2011 of Leonardo da Vinci s birthday as World Art Day which will be celebrated for the first time on April 15, 2012.
