Call for submissions to BAC 10: 'A Matter of Women'

BAC 9: Pandora’s Box is on for another month, but the International Festival of Contemporary Art in Barcelona is making preparations for BAC 10, opening in December and “dedicated in its entirety to the production of female artists from all over the world”. Departing from earlier, similarly themed endeavours, BAC 10, the organisers say, will “break away from stereotypes to present a fresh, dynamic and mobilising display of gender in art”, focusing on “humour, irony and divergence” rather than “difference and discrimination”. Today’s announcement includes a call for film and video submissions to its “Indomitable Women” section. Apart from gender of the artist, conditions for participation include submitting work under five minutes long and made in the last three and a half years.
