This ongoing series of paintings, drawings and manipulated old family photos is based on my own personal history, childhood memories, dreams and nightmares.
Mixing fact and fiction, blurring the boundaries between fantasy(phantasy) and reality. A kind of 'Freudian Archaeology' where unearthing my past leads me to an understanding of my present.
As my middle name is 'Tracy' with some of these pieces it is both, revisiting the island of my childhood as well as a play on my favourite childhood place, the fictional world of Tracy Island and the Thunderbirds…

EMP are a group of visual/sonic artists and musicians lead by three core members;
A. Beentjes/zoologic; D. Richards & W. Richards/Prometheus(Unbound).
This core trio is often joined by one or more of the following, D. Cunliffe/Igor’s Roomy Labcoat; N. Kidd/Kidderowski; D. Parkinson/DLP and on occasion by Laura T. (English and French dialogue).
EMP is an experimental, electro-acoustic, improvisational group. A collaboration between artists and musicians who looking for new artistic paradigms, collaborate to create spontaneous, improvised, sonic-art/music/soundscapes and installation/environments.
Whilst searching for new artistic avenues EMP experiment and attempt to blur the boundaries between different artistic modes and media, crossing over, exploring and dwelling occasionally in the grey areas between art/noise/performance /sound/music/spoken word/dialogue etc to create soundscapes/music?/visual art and/or sonic art & video installations.
