If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Painting
I am...
sacramento native, paint part-time. love all artists/art of all kind.
About my artwork
oils. Skyscapes. abstract. anything that is not considered portrait, still life, land, or seascapes at this time....I'm looking at doing Encaustics in the future. i'm always changing my work and I'm inspired by everything around me. my art is something i can dedicate myself to full-time in the future.
Artists I like
Those that blend colors and have a high, brilliant volume of colors in their paintings are particularly interesting to me. Individuals who think more on their own and are more original than anything else. I'm always amused by fun art or something I guess you would call the lighter or "happy" side as apposed to dark art. I feel there is too much dark in the world, why perpetuate it out into the world. On the same note, we all have our dark days and need to express ourselves. Everything in moderation. I believe our art is a reflection of ourselves and I gravitate toward the intelligent (enlightened), positive, relaxed (no drama), and inspirational.
Interests
Environment, recycled home goods, abstraction, individuals of all ability levels (disabled individuals) new, different, unusual, colors, beauty, nothing too obscene or grotesques, things that inspire, tranquility, make a person the best they can be, reflection, quiet.
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
I’m always interested in the newest and most contemporary pieces. New and different I always say. They don't have to "say" anything particularly but elicit a response all the same. I just noticed some work that are various mixed colors, splats of paint that I would love to see on glass. Maybe the artist will do it. It's not my area of interest right now to do it myself. That person has a really great idea going.
The centre of the artworld is
nowhere and everywhere

I see, that sounds interesting.
I like to redorganize homes, only transforming what is already there with very little additions and costs. I feel its time to stop this "through away - get new consuming pattern".
Thinking of going into buisness too.

Hey Tharon, Thanks very much for your comment, I appreciate the connection you made about light. I haven't thought about making the leap into actual glass, but I like the challenge of creating luminosity through paint. Best of luck with your work, you seem to have a great spirit of experimentation with the medium, that energy comes across through your images. take care!
