If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Digital, Drawing, Painting
I am...
a 25 year old artist from Israel, looking for a loving curator to shack me up in a nice gallery ;)

Over a half a year ago, I had finally opened The Pinup Shop (http://www.cafepress.com/the_pinup_shop) and it's joint blog, The Pinup Shop Blog (http://www.thepinupblog.com). In this blog I explore art, culture, history and society, through the irresistible prism of pinup art.

It's been about 3 years since I've created personal art. I just didn't want to put myself out there, anymore. Call it Art School Post Trauma Syndrome ;)
I'm starting to miss it, though, so I've finally begun creating some personal, non-commercial work (http://Tali.imagekind.com/).

I'm also working on my first novel, right now, and in about a year, I hope not to be one of those people, who are working on their first novel. Meanwhile I Twitter poetry, just to keep the writing juices flowing (http://twitter.com/Tali99).

My work on the internet has opened up interesting new experiences, for me as an artist. So come on down for a visit :D
About my artwork
I'm primarily a painter. I prefer oils, but it seems that if I want to make any money, digital tools are a must. That's why I sport a dingy Wacom tablet and Corel painter.

My non-commercial/commissioned art is very personal and deals with themes that are predominant in my life, such as womanhood, gender and sexuality, on one hand, and self observation, alienation and introspection on the other. That's all fancy talk for what I can just paint ;)
Artists I like
Jamie Hewlett is a huge source of awe for me. I love Alfonse Mucha's work and a few classic pinup artists, like Gil Elvgren and Edward D'Ancona.
Interests
I'm a real culture tart. I get saturated very easily. Anything that's art inspires me; films, books, museums, street art... a real snob :p
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
You live in Israel? :P

This pretty lady approached me with a bit of a challenge. She wanted a Fantasy Art styled pinup. Somehow, I had to reconcile my love for garters with something more hard-eged than I’m used to. The result is… Continue

I'm Watching You Big Brother

Seems like once I opened the floodgates, ideas came rushing in like the Amazon River. It takes time to actually put them to canvas, but here is one of the thoughts that kept running through my head, once I realized the scope of my government's lies to me, and the extent of destruction that these lies have created.

To buy his print click… Continue

The BEST FIGURATIVE ARTISTS IN THE WORLD ARE EROTIC ARTISTS. Thanks to the Computer and the Internet you can see not Hundreds but Thousands of Figurative "erotic" artists you will never ever see in an Art Gallery because there are not enough galleries or wall space to have exhibits- most galleries represent about 15 - 20 artists and each are usually given a exhibtion every two years in America---
Erotic Artists and Photographers are some of the best creative talent around today-- check some out in England at the Guild of Erotic Artists, www.theguildoferoticartists.com

Thanks for your comment Tali. I'll sound didactic, but try and do as much life drawing as you can- its a hard taskmaster but if used correctly can lead to liberation :)

there's a raw energy to some of your work which I quite like- never do anything to please or impress anybody else! The truth is inside you. You can see more if you look at www.niccosta.com
