If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Painting
I am...
a grumpy cantankerous artist. An American who lives in England. Any art education was far too long ago to be relevant. I have now live in Liverpool for longer than anywhere else, am considered a Liverpool artist and am listed on the art in Liverpool website.
About my artwork
Living on a coastline means that beach scenes and depictions of water feature quite a lot in my work. I work mainly in oils but hammerite has lately figured large as both a medium and background. I have work in collections around the globe, in loads of private homes and there are frequent exhibitions of my work
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
Lautrec at the Walker and Picasso at the Tate. Liverpool is alive with summer exhibitions.
Don't forget the Bienniel and Independents exhibitions in L:iverpool from 17 September to 30 November including the John Moore's. An exhibition of my recent work will be at 60 Wood Street from 14 September to 6 October and then moves to The 6 Room Gallery in Wirral from 8 to 30 October.
I am also at Art in the Park in Coronation Gardens in West Kirby on the Wirral on 5 September. Work will be on display at the House of Fraser Store in Birkenhead in November and I will also be on the Piattza outside the Catholic Cathedral during the Hope Street Festival
Priming in acrylic, try Johnstones MDF primer, in their speciality range, it's very flexible, thick and sticks to the surface of a canvas really well, whilst allowing over painting with oils once dry to adhere partically well, shouldn't flake like emulsion will tend to do, in time.

Thanks for checking in on me. School started back this week, so, I don't have much time for anything. I've decided to be like Michael Phelps, the swimmer in the Olympics, and keep my earphones in all of the time while at school and maybe at home, too. I don't want to hear anyone's crap. This is my last semester and I just want to go in to my studio and do my own thing.
I love the Japanese orchids. I'd love to see it in person.

Can you tell us more about the latest work that you just added? What is the media/medium and what are the sizes of the pieces? Are you painting from life? I particularly like the use of color in the one with the umbrella.
hi susan, thanks for coming in my page and for your comment. I saw you work, I like how you use the colors, in particular to paint the sea. I wish you all the best.
