If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Digital, Drawing, Painting, Photography
I am...
...a self trained artist. From my studio in the high desert in eastern Nevada and my other home in the northern mountains of the Colorado Rockies I create my work, teach private students, sell to the public and private. I have been selling online for the past year on several sites and I am currently working on several commissioned projects.
About my artwork
My art is a constant amazement to me, at any given moment I have five to seven paintings or drawings in my head that I want to produce but I literally do not know what is going to appear.
My subject matter is broad and varied, I paint and draw anything that captures my eye either through my personal photography or just going out side and looking around.
My subject matter is the same...if it makes me turn my eye to it, it will end up in a drawing or a painting.
At present I have become obsessed with the portraits of the Native American people of our country. I grew up near the Rosebud Reservation that is north of Valentine, Nebraska. As a child I became captivated by the colors, the dress, the celebrations and most of all the dignity of the people. My paintings and drawings of this culture are from personal vintage photography of family and friends.
Artists I like
....over the past few years I have seen hundreds of artists on line that take my breath away...but at the present I would have to say that the artists I admire the most are my students who come to my studio and strive to find their muse.
Interests
Needless to say my interests are in my painting and drawing, my camera is a constant companion...I read a book a week, and teaching my art students is a large part of my day.
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
I have had four private showings over the years but do not have anything in the works at the moment as far as a public showing other then the selling sites I am on.
