If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Conceptual, Installation, Painting, Photography
I am...
eccentric, quietly passionate, neurotic, (at times) a recluse
About my artwork
I am inspired mostly by music, from Classical, Incidental to Jazz. The paintings express the
embedded, intertwined notes and rhythm within. Each composition explores stillness and movement just as notes & rests in music. My art does not make any particular statement. It is neither political nor satirical; it's just a reflection of my sincere being at the time of the creating of
the art.

The shapes and rhythm are drawn from the
subconscious, long thinking process, and when the
creation starts, impromptu process takes over, first creating the "outline". I might stop, walk away for a while or just to continue, then my hands will take over as the tool to create the final rhythm.
Artists I like
Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, Pollack, Rothko, Richard Ballard
Interests
La vie, toujours, La vie!
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
Life, around us..

HI Sonya, shows can be a problem - all that work and high expectations - I had a solo in February about 33 works and a Video installation - but all went well except there were no sales - it was in a regional Gallery - good facilities, free food and a few reviews and advertising - so it was a success in my eyes.
I hope the next exhibition is a better experience for you. There is no pressure on you, I am really just seeing how you are and where you are.
I would love to see that PDF booklet and CV file - then I would have the resources to give you a review and show case on our ArtSmelter site. If you need any help posting a blog or want to advertise your next show on The Smelter then let me know.
All the best DAVID

Hi Sonya, David here from ArtSmelter - you must be busy preparing for your art shows - I am wondering if you still want to be part of ArtSmelter?
You may be very busy at the moment - maybe I could do a small review on ArtSmelter of you work and career. Just let me know what you want to do. See ya.

Sonya, a blog is a free site like ArtReview - the collective one I set up has two artists from Victoria, two from Qld and one from Perth. I am interested in growing a blogsite that has a diverse range of artists from all across Australia. It is free and as anonymous as you want - one can post art, video, poetry, photos whenever you want. you can post articles and comment on other postings - links can be added to the main screen to refer visitors to you own sites, emails, online galleries etc. By joining gmail or blogger you can host you own blog as well. Check out the links on ArtSmelter - http://australianartistcollective.blogspot.com/ - especially other blogs from around the world. There is no cost or financial gain for you or any of the others who belong to ArtSmelter. I am just trying to make an interesting blog.
Anyway - have fun.
Are you still at RMIT - one of my brothers did Video Art there a few years back.
