I am...
I am Remco van den Bosch, 32 years old. I was born on the 23th of august 1974 in Schiedam next to Rotterdam. The biggest port in Europe. After I decided to go to art school in 1996 my whole life changed. I worked myself true art school with jobs in the ports and harbours, working behind bars and later shooting modelportfolio’s. I have lived in Amsterdam, Brussels (Belgium) and Barcelona (spain). After I graduated in 2000 I decided to work as an expressive artist.

Currently I live and work in Vlissingen, Zeeland. I enjoy living next to the sea and I spend a lot of time overthere.

My favourite music varies from Metallica to Korn to Ambientstyle and I really like going out with my friends. When I am not working on my art projects I like to read or go to the gym to work out and cardio.

I very often visit exhibitions and I am very interested in different fields of art. I have studied Andy Warhol and Joseph Beuys and took an interest in the history of modern day photography in the Netherlands.

I absolutely love my dogs Binky and Sarah who will be very well looked after when I am not around and I am abroad working on my art projects

My slogans for life are: ‘Volharding is mijn devies’ and ‘Niets is onmogelijk’ These slogans mean that I am very determined when ik comes to reaching my artistic goals and that I think that "Nothing is impossible".

My dreams for the future are to initiate on of the best art projects ever world wide and to work very hard and make a big succes out of artproject Starfactory: Organic Lust.

About my artwork
COMING UP: Art project in Los Angeles. 1 June - 1 December. Six months of creativity

Artistic and in substance principles
Remco van den Bosch

Periodical fame by transformation
As a plastic artist I work inside the discipline staged photography and new media. The leading motive is the concept of Andy Warholes '15 minutes of fame'. I chose everyday people and transform them into stars. Out of this theme "Stages for periodiacal fame", I already work for a several years with the potential need of lots of people to rise (only a short time) above the daily reality.
With make-up, decors, light and specific atrributes I create the atmosphere and surrounding.
In an intense, ruled by me, correlation with the model originate situations in which I can make the shots which I aim as my artistic target. The photographes are the fundamental idea for further operating.
Involvement and engagement with people are the starting points to round off this process succesfully. However I don't dread to look for the limits of what is called nowadays 'social accepted'.

My pictures are called sensual, they have often an erotic load but pose, styling, illumination, atrributes and specific technics disorder this image.
Through this originates the wanted stratifiedness and the question of the observer.
What is going on?
Frequently I work in a combination of model and organic death material, derived from the surrounding of the place where I live on the border of sea and land.
The fact of the unlimited presense of this material creates the possibility to use unique style elements in the transformation. In another place this process will lead to new challenges.

Pressrelease
Van den Bosch goes LA

After the susses formula “Famous in Zeeland” photographer/artist Remco van den Bosch is expanding his working area to Los Angeles, the wide metropolis at the west coast of the United States of America. Starting the 1st of June till the 1st of December 2008 the, in the meantime well-known platform for periodical fame, will also be launched in the US.

Target
“A quest for fame”: ordinary personalities in the capital of the world will be portrayed in most extreme and expressive ways.

The topics “being famous” and “becoming famous” are being translated by Van den Bosch into images that show urban people in their most extreme ways and their external glow. Images that expose the tension between the emptiness of fame and the fullness of human identity. Images that magnify common issues: what is the attraction of Hollywood? How much is it worth to become famous? How are people experiencing this way of life?

Procedure
From within a studio is being worked towards a final presentation and an exhibition. During 2008 and 2009 several exhibitions of this working period and its themes will be scheduled in the Netherlands as well as in the United States. To make “A quest for Fame” possible anyone can cooperate in an unconventional photo shoot! Join now!

Participate
Anyone can become a celebrity in the project “A quest for Fame”, which is being launched by photographer/artist Remco van den Bosch. Anyone who will go to extremes, showing commitment to the target of the project, anyone enthusiastic, without holding back and who will persevere! Do you want to become famous as well?? Would you also like to be transformed into a superstar?? Join NOW.

Celebrities
Not only stars “yet to come” but also the stars whose names already have been established are being challenged to participate in “A quest for Fame”. These celebrities will contribute in this way to enlarge the chances of making it in Hollywood for new upcoming talents. Photo images off these people will be sold to benefit kidshealth.
