Artist
If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Painting, Sculpture
I am...
an artist working in Minnesota in the United States.
About my artwork
My colorful action abstraction paintings are an exploration of the expressive power of form, line and symbol on a stage of converging planes. Much of the work is about pushing limits and liberation. Like dancers, figures are often in motion - acting and reacting in concert with other figures and shapes.

Ideas of musical composition influence the visual structure and tempo of the paintings. Ch'i energy is the unifying element of the work. All areas of the canvas - form, color, plane and brush stroke - are interacting in a dynamic orchestration of energy and texture. The paintings are meant to be vital, active and alive.

These works embody a search for meaning through story telling. They explore ideas of physics, religion, music, dance, yoga, meditation and emotion.
Artists I like
Kawai, Hamada, Matisse, Kandinsky, Klee, Durain, Picabia, De Kooning, Noguchi, Feninger, Duckworth, Bresson
Interests
Yoga, running, sailing, biking, painting, ceramics, photography, music, theater, digital design

I'm back again. Like " Back to the future" To mention the music influence. Music is the food of life. If i was in to say heavy metal "God help my artwork" But i'm not, i like less in your face stuff not music that make you deaf and dumb that pollutes your mind and everything. If i had to constantly listen to heavy metal music... for days maybe years i would tremble and maybe fall part at the seams. Joking apart each to their own . At times unless i'm in the mood i like to dance and paint to Funk or soul. Latin funk/jazz. Mellow jazz syncopates me and my art. Classical music ... Debussey, Delious, Grieg, ( to name a few) also softens the tones and evokes colours in my imagination. I like to create an atmosphere before i paint a kind of Utopia. Cocoon myself from the real world. I do paint without music but think about a tranquill place. How the world should be. Stravinsky is said to emulated classical music the beat and tempo. The artists palette is a bit like an instrument but we can't make the palette sing or make sounds or as you said it is static art with intergrated forms. Best of life to all from Funky Chicken George

Hi Philip,
I appreciate your such great words on my artwork and art in gereneral and music. Art appeals/attracts to us all differently as individuals just like food, clothes. I sometimes wonder about my art "Like what was that i just painted. Did i really do that that? Some people ask me if i'm on anything. I respond fresh air, love of life and i have a feeling deep down in my spirit/soul like a craving for a roast dinner to paint. They ask me "why i don't sell my work." I reply, "Sometimes i do but not for commercialism but to buy paint/materials.. to sometimes create for charitable causes". Also to show artwork in a more positve light in this world of doom and gloom. We need more artists like us to " Pallete the Way" (pave the way). For other up and coming artists to not be afraid to test all boundaries/conventions but to be them selves.
My Anima Utopia artwork evolved from a story i have nearly written from the same name.
That represents a more peaceful , harmonius, loving and caring world. No need of money, greed, class, heiracy everything is totaly shared and everyone is totally equal.
No one starves through lack of food or water. No one gets ill they live forever. The animals are hybrid, wacky, eccentric and homourus.Inventive innovative, they create many inventions not for profit but to ease the burden of life and assist their existence. The vehicles don't pollute the animals use their own compost miixed with non carbon monoxide vegatation oils.
No no need for speed they live in a Utopia.Everything is produced from soft materials to eradicate injuries or death. No weopons of mass destruction only of peace,no violence, or wars. They have more respect/concern for eachothers existence. Of course the story is fantasy and would probaly never happen in the human world unless we begin again.Must finish or i will write the whole 400000 words on Animal Utopia.
You can see my performances including the Animal Utopia on Youtube under Transvoyeur artists or George Lund Animal Utopia. I feel there is opportunites coming your way soon. Promote your art in every avenue even wear a t-shirt with your art on it. Have an arty party get everyone to wear your t-shirts. Have all your art on display. Produce flyers, post cards, business cards. Have a data base to send to all organizations etc. If you have the money employ someone to wear a sandwhich board with your art on it and info of your exhibitions. Produce a good business plan with everything about your self ( unique selling points etc)
I would just say maybe experiment more with more sustances materials mulit media your art.
I feel you do but dispense with conventions and traditions ( sometimes) Have a look at what is out there what the trends are what is selling ( if you want to sell it). This is my business advice for today.
All the best. Keep on keeping on and the faith Take care. Regards Funkadelic Chicken George

The Problem of Health Care

At last! A layman's guide to the Government's healthcare reforms, explaining them in terms so simple they might have been written by a complete idiot, and charting the development of health care from the good old days to the present and beyond - with hilarious results! In fabulous stickman-o-vision, with bits of colour.…See More
